Located on Nantucket, this three story former whaling captain’s home is the epitome of our historic island. The Carlisle House Inn is in a cobblestoned neighborhood of traditional grey shingled homes with pristinely trimmed hedges and picket fences. The pineapple, a symbol of hospitality, hangs on our sign near the front steps as a warm welcome to all travelers.
Our thirteen roomed inn accommodates travelers of every walk of life, with lodging options of single, queen, king, and suite. The Carlisle House Inn property features a breakfast porch, hydrangea gardens, a fire pit, along with views of our beautiful town. With our convenient distance to downtown Nantucket, guests are able to adventure beyond our walls and explore our beautiful and charming island.
Worked a neighboring inn on Nantucket when she was on summer breaks during her university years. From then on she knew that someday she wanted to own an inn on Nantucket. She is now the proprietor of three properties, the Carlisle House Inn being her most recent acquisition in May 2018. Her recent renovations and business strategies are bringing new life to the inn while respecting its history.
Her love of hospitality and years in the industry may inspire you to become an innkeeper after your stay! When she isn’t on Nantucket welcoming wanderers to the island she’s in Indiana greeting guests at her other two properties. Looking Glass Inn and Stone Soup Inn located in the Old Northside Historic District of Indianapolis, Indiana.
